Becoming a Patient
To become a patient at Gateway Rehabilitation Hospital, a referral must be made by a physician, case manager, social worker or family member. Our clinical liaisons will then go to the hospital or home to conduct a free pre-admission screening and evaluate the patient, review medical records and speak to concerned family members. Once it has been determined that a person would benefit from an inpatient stay at our hospital, a room is made available for their transfer.
It should be noted that most inpatient services need to be pre-authorized by insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. Our administrative staff will assist you with this process.
Suggested visiting hours are from 8 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Most patients are involved in therapy between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and may be away from their rooms. Feel free to call us prior to your visit to find out what time will work best for the patient.
Families and friends are encouraged to eat lunch and dinner with patients.
Lunch is served from 12pm to 1pm, and dinner is served from 5pm to 6pm daily. For a nominal fee, guests can enjoy a meal alongside a patient during their mealtime. It is helpful if family members call Gateway before 10:00 a.m. to reserve their meal.
We also offer a large private dining room. If you are celebrating a special occasion, consider reserving this room during your stay.
